There has been some discussion on the forum related to the organisation of a symposium of some kind by Auguste. The initial idea was to have a 'Hands-on-Security' experience, by which an introductory reading was followed by a practical experience, e.g. a talk on privilege escalation followed by a practical session in which the knowledge gained can be applied (preferably in some safe VMWare environment in this case).
Further down the road suggestions were made on extending this to a day-long event, inviting not only students to present their research and interests, but also requesting 'real' researchers to give some enthusiastic presentation on some revolutionary security topic.
In order to really organise this event this wikipage was created. On this page you will find the current status of the event and you can participate in the discussion as to how this day should be filled in.
Currently the schedule for the day is almost completed, however still open to discussion! We still need a third student presentation and a talk from a research expert - any suggestions? Let us know. Other things still to decide upon are a date and sponsorships.
Please use the discussion page for discussion ;-)
